A 4 day, 3 night Morocco desert tour departing from Marrakech, visiting Ait Benhaddou, Ouarzazate, Dades valley, Todra gorge, Merzouga, Erg Chebbi, Zagora and The Draa valley, with overnight stays in The Dades valley and Erg Chebbi and The dunes of Zagora.

Day 1 of this Morocco desert tour
This Morocco desert tour departs from Marrakech at 07:20hrs in a modern, air conditioned minibus or a modern 4x4 . We travel over the Atlas mountains, enjoying the magnificent views of the surrounding countryside below and we visit the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou. This journey takes approx 2 and a half hours.
From there, after our break, we continue to Ouarzazate (approx 1 hour or so) for lunch break.
Lunch is available in the local cafe's.
After lunch, we continue along the route of The Dades Valley to reach our guesthouse where we will stay for the night.
The guesthouse offers Private ensuite rooms and an evening meal and breakfast are included.
Day 2 of this Morocco desert tour
The next morning we continue along the Dades valley, visiting Dades Gorge, Todra, Todra Gorge and other interesting sites, making our way to Merzouga.
At Merzouga we explore the village and meet our Camels who will take us for 1 and a half hours into the Dunes to reach our desert camp at Erg Chebbi.
Each person rides their own Camel and additional Camels are provided to carry your luggage.
The Camel trek is usually just prior to sunset, so that you may enjoy the sun setting over the landscape from the top of the Dunes.
Once we arrive at the Erg Chebbi Desert camp, we are greeted with a cup of delicious hot minty tea and we spend the evening under the stars, on the dunes and beside the warmth of the fireside.
We enjoy a locally cooked meal of Tagine and couscous (vegetarians are catered for with vegetable tagine), a drum party and story swapping.
The camp does have washing and toilet facilities.
Those that wish to can sleep directly under the stars, but there are Bivouacs for everyone.
The stars in the desert are a great opportunity to see as their are no artificial lights around and you can fully appreciate the glory of the skies above.
For those that are unable to ride the Camels, we provide 4x4 transportation to the Desert camp.
Day 3 of this Morocco desert tour
The next day, we take our camels for the return journey back to Merzouga. After our exploration of the village of Merzouga, we head today to Zagora, visiting many sights. We then join our Camels for a 1 hour trek into the Dunes to find our desert camp for the night. Evening meal and breakfast and accomodation in private Berber tents is our accomodation for the night.
Day 4 of this Morocco desert tour
After a traditional Berber breakfast, just prior to sunrise, we have a Two hour camel ride at sunrise to explore the area further and we head back to Zagora on our Camels.
When we reach Zagora, we have the opportunity to wash and then we begin our journey through the beautiful Draa valley to Ouarzazate and over the Atlas mountains, with plenty of stops for photos, exploring and lunch, to Marrakech.
This Morocco desert tour usually returns to Marrakech, arriving at around 18:00hrs.
FES
Clients wishing to travel onto Fes from Merzouga can leave the tour on the last morning whilst in Merzouga.
You can then either wait for the Supratours bus which departs from Merzouga at approx 19:30hrs and reaches Fes at 05:00hrs the next morning or you can take a shared or private Grande taxi from Merzouga. Note that the taxis are not bookable in advance and if you take a shared Grande taxi you will have to wait for the taxi to be full before it departs or pay for the extra seats. Note that each Grande taxi takes 6 passengers plus the driver. The cost for both Supratours and a seat in a grande taxi are the roughly the same at around 100 dirham or so per person.
We reccomend that you book your Supratours tickets whilst in Marrakech.
